It’s tempting to start with a plan. To tame it with your mind. It might work.
Perhaps some advice from a friend. Someone who knows you well. Could be.
I often like to take a break. Get some space from the problem. It helps.
Why?
Why are you still here?
Because you can’t feel it.
“Yes!” You say.
“How can I feel it? If I could feel it I could do anything. I know I could. I could get going again.”
Hmm.
I could never hope to tell you how to do that. How to feel it.
But I’ll tell you this, and in so doing give you a new game to play.
It only takes one step. To feel it again. Sometimes it takes none! You simply feel it directly and on purpose.
Try that now.
(I mean that, seriously. There’s only like 2 or 3 more ideas in this piece and they ain’t going anywhere. Just try it.)
It was worth the attempt, because sometimes that works. Keep that one in your back pocket for next time. It can be hard though, when you’ve forgotten what it feels like. That is the worst
Still, it’s only hard because you’re trying to do it without feeling it. You’re playing a new game now though. And it’s very simple.
Feel it first.
You are only one step away from being back on the path. If you can’t feel it now, your only goal at this moment is to take that single step.
You’ll know when you’ve taken it. It’s the one that made you smile and forget why you ever needed to read this. It’s the one that helped you feel it
